Apple set to unveil smaller iPad(2)
The event on October 23 will take place at California Theatre in San Jose. Apple refused to unveil the details of the event but gave a clue at stating: “We’ve got a little more to show you.” A representative from Apple refused to share further details. Wall Street analysts have stated for months that Apple is developing a smaller, cheaper edition of its famous iPad to compete with the other cheaper devices. Some of the biggest events on the tech calendar come from Apple launches although fans, investors and the people from the industry often give both negative and positive feedbacks. Today, Apple has one 9.7-inch iPad and comes with a variety of storage options and starts at $499. The older version also known as iPad 2 can be purchased now for $399. The latest tablet is expected to have a display from 7 inches and 8 inches which makes it relatively smaller. Wall Street analysts suppose that Apple will price the new tablet ranging from $199 and $299. Immediate competition with the Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD tablet and Google’s Nexus 7, both having 7-inch displays and sold at $199 is expected with the release of the smaller iPad. Looking back from the release of the first Kindle Fire last year which it immediately took hold about a fifth of the U.S tablet market. The location for the product launching will be held at the California Theatre although it is not Apple’s go-to venue. The company used the place before way back 2004 to reveal the Special Edition U2 iPod accompanied with a performance by the famous rock band U2. |

Nexus: the best option for those who want to always have the latest Android(1) If the price tag is a major competitive disadvantage of iOS, the operating system present in laptops from Apple, make sure that a customer has purchased a quality product – both software and hardware – when you purchase an iPhone or iPad is also one of the main attractions of the Apple products. Who opts for Android can be in doubt, after all, the list of devices that Google’s system board has options ranging from the extremely simple to the best equipment. But when it comes to Android-edge, the big name is the Nexus, the official line from Google. Besides offering the experience more “pure” with Android , as the version used in the device is the original, factory output and without any modification of manufacturers, the Nexus also always the first on the list when it comes to upgrade. The newest Android is here While all the Smartphones still offered a robust version of the Android Gingerbread (2.3.4), the Nexus came with the Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0). The response was so great that experienced users of iOS finally arrived to say that Google has created a system able to meet (and beat) its main competitor. For a while it was like this: the only official Google Smartphone had the honor to take the modern and renovated Android ICS. Code named Jelly Bean, version 4.1 system brought few major changes, but it was first in the new Nexus, leaving behind even other big names from partners of Google, as HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3. Always up to date The One X and S3 are great devices, fully able to meet the iPhone and the Nexus as equals. But Google , responsible for the development of Android, the software takes care much about the hardware of this device, that is designed to upgrade any system will arrive first at the Nexus. In other edge devices, it takes some time until the manufacturer put your hand over a new version of Android, apply all changes to give your face the system there and then to release to its customers. Furthermore, there imply one hardware limitations, which also may have less effect on the Nexus. Tiebreaker Of course, sooner or later, following the rhythm “natural” technological development, your Google Nexus will eventually become obsolete. But until then you will be the target of a series of updates and news, and all this before any other device. If the hardware differences are not significant between edge devices with Android, as well as the price change between them is not so great, this quality of Nexus – always be first when it comes to Android – can be crucial to put it ahead of competitors. |

Amazon to offer a greater range of mobile devices(0)
According to Reuters Amazon have plans to expand its mobile platform and start offering more devices beyond just e-readers and the Kindle Fire tablet. Analysts say the company is looking to expand into new markets and start offering new devices. The move is partially in response to a large amount of new tablets hitting the market. Previously the Kindle Fire dominated the lower end of the market however with a range of new android tablets being released retailing for less than $150 and rumors of a iPad which mini would retail for far less than the current iPad their market dominance is under threat. This has forced the company to reconsider its strategy. The new tablets will vary in size and include a 10 any inch model. Amazon has declined to comment on what the company’s plans are for the future. Part of Amazon’s strategy is to sell its own hardware in order to sell more of its MP3′s, movies, TV shows, applications and games. The theory is that if you buy a Amazon tablet then you will also buy music and applications from Amazon. Previously Amazon was a major retailer of books, CDs and DVDs however sales of physical products have been in decline the last couple of years with more and more consumers wanting digital products and Amazon’s dominance in the digital content market could help it gain a foothold in the mobile market and challenge Apple, Google, Microsoft and Facebook. |

16GB Nexus 7 sold out in Google(1)
Google has sold out of its new phone the 16 GB Nexus 7. The tablet which cost $249 is no longer available from the Google Play store and you can no longer be put on a waiting list. Orders can simply not be placed and Google has yet to say when the device will go on sale again. The 7 inch tablet has been one of the most popular 7 inch tablets available with retailers running out fast and now even the Google Play store itself completely running dry. The 8 GB version of the tablet is still available although shipping Times appeared to be irregular. Strangely Google will allow you to buy up to five 8 GB Nexus tablets at a time but won’t let you purchase even 16 GB version. According to the Guardian in the UK Google seriously underestimated the demand for the 16 GB Nexus 7. Sources within the company say they didn’t expect the device to be so popular and that their warehouses are completely empty. One of the reasons for the larger version being more popular is that the 8 GB version relies heavily on cloud storage and is essentially useless if you don’t have a connection to the Internet. The company has also been criticised for not releasing a 32 GB version of the tablet. The shortage from the Google plays store has resulted in device becoming highly sought-after and has pushed up its price on eBay. One seller was selling a Nexus 7 for twice the amount it was selling for on the Google Play store. |

New iPad is on sale in China(0) In China this friday Apple released the newest iPad after they settled the lawsuit over ownership of its name and they are requiring all buyers to order in advance so that they can control the huge crowd. A few dozen of buyers waiting outside the store in Beijing, China and Shanghai, China for the store to open at 8 a.m. That was indifferent in the previous release of iPhone last January where shoppers threw eggs that delays the opening of the store due to security reason. A very different scenery in the Apple store that day. Almost 30 or less than 30 waiting in line, outnumbered by the reporters. Different in the previous release of Apple products where almost hundreds to thousands of people waiting – said by one of the shoppers. After a cleared potential legal hurdle of Apple Inc. with Shenzhen Proview Technology Ltd. where they paid $60 million just to settle the said dispute. The global rights with the name iPad where bought by Apple in 2009 but Chinese authorities said that the rights in China weren’t transferred at all. We all know that China was the biggest market of Apple after US which has the highest percentage of Apple users and it is highly beneficial to the company. Clearly China is a big market for apple to introduce new products but for today even there’s a big sale, no doubt Apple store in China had been punched down with less consumers waiting in line. |
